Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad must love the tropics. He has spent more time in Latin America than President Bush over the past 12 months, and is promising billions in economic aid to his friends in the region. Last week's visit by Ahmadinejad to Venezuela and Bolivia marked his third trip to the region since September 2006. By comparison, Bush has only made one visit to the region over the same period. åndêrš, it's obvious why Ahmednijad is trying to woo Latin America. It's because he is looking for allies in his stance against the USA, and Iran sees Latin America as the natural and historic rival of the USA. The naive will wonder how Latin Americans can hate the USA for all we have done for them, basically saving their race from extinction by allowing them to sneak in here and smuggle tens of billions of dollars out of the USA. The answer: because Latin Americas are a tremendously proud people and they feel tremendously humiliated that their hated historic rivals, the USA/Anglos, have whipped them in every conceivable way, the ultimate humiliation being Hispanics paying their life savings and risking ther lives to make all-out desperate attemtps to sneak into and then force themselves into USA society. That humiliation far outweighs all the good things the USA/Anglos have done for Latin America.

Back to a serious look at the actual topic:
Ahmadinejad is a danager wherever he goes, but he comes bearing gifts where the US does not have a
strong diplomatic presence.

Far left loonies like venezuela's hugo chavez welcome a friend to help them against the threats they fear from a country that has attack Iraq largely unprovoked and blamed them for 9/11 rather than keeping blame with afghanistan. Now Chavez is finding friends that have mutual enemies.

Where there is a rival to fill a power vacuum, you will find such machiavellian politics.

Latin America is universally welcoming Chavez, it is certain far-left leaning countries where there has not been enough suppport (or pressure to reform) for pro-us and pro capitalist governments...

Correction, Latin American has NOT been universally welcoming Chavez. It is those regions mentioned (countries that don't see enough support for pro capitalist and pro-business economies)

The Iran muslim has already proclaimed his goal of extermination of Israel, probably there are shortsighted people that believe that is his final objective. It is not, what he wants is to impose islam religion in the world, and to do that he must defeat the USA (Europe is already defeated). This is the reason he is working with Chavez, and unless Bush bans all oil imports from Venezuela, they are going to succeed!!!!

Anybody with little knowledge of history and the Middle East knows that his trips are only meant for internal consumption of Iranians, to say hey look we are not isolated and we have friends too. Iranian government poses no danger to anyone except Iranians. Making Mr. Ahmadinejad look dangerous is actually helping his hand and his prestige. Iranian & Venezuelan governments can make all the noise they want about this and that, while the FACT is that their oil production and price is still under our control!
